Belated 1 year anniversary!

It's been over a year since I started this blog and I completely forgot about the 1 year anniversary. I know, that's such a huge failure but I was first busy with friends, family, and then came work and school. My first blog post was written on July 11th and the first post was just your standard introduction so my future blog readers could find out who I am. You guys basically were basically there for my whole study abroad journey. After I got home from my visa appointment, I made a blog post letting you know how it went and then I posted another blog post when I received it in the mail. You saw all the goodbyes before finally getting on that plane and arriving to Paris. After settling in my French apartment I managed to open a bank account, get beds delivered, buy a French cellphone, and even make new friends.

Once I started settling into my new life I started exploring the French concert scene and the electro scene at le Social Club. Then finally October came and I enrolled in my dream French school, La Sorbonne. The first day of class was odd but it went smoothly despite how different American and French universities are. When December rolled around, that's when the traveling began. It was also the month that my brother came to visit me.

By the time 2012 arrived I had completely forgotten how life in San Diego was like and embraced my new Parisian life. 2012 took me to two Scandinavian countries, Hungary, the south and north of France, Spain, and even Disneyland Paris! As much as I didn't want to leave Paris, my return date was rapidly approaching. I wanted to let my readers know what my life as a study abroad student was so I decided to vlog my day to day life. You saw me walking around in Paris with my boyfriend trying to find lengua (cow tongue) for el Cinco de Mayo but ending up at our favorite Chinese restaurant when we couldn't find any. Then I went to see Romeo and Juliet at the famous Opéra Bastille and celebrated my friend and roommate's birthday at a French restaurant. Unfortunately after the second Disneyland trip things started to go downhill, I got a stomach virus then injured my knee and to top it off my laptop died which led to me cancel the rest of the series. Before I knew it June was here and it was time for me to go back to San Diego. June and July were a particularly hard months on me due to reverse culture shock but things have gotten a lot better now.

Obviously I'm no longer studying abroad but that doesn't mean that I'm going to stop writing about studying/living abroad. I have started a list of topics that I did not get a chance to write about while I was in Paris so you will continue to get posts that pertain to studying abroad. I would also like to do personal updates so you know how I'm doing. Perhaps they'll be in the form of a vlog? I don't know yet but we'll see. I've also asked my boyfriend, Orlando, to contribute in my blog. That way you'll get a guy's perspective of studying abroad. If you have any requests or questions please feel free to comment, send me an email, or tweet me your questions. I would like to do another Q&A post soon so the more questions I get the better the post will be. The questions don't have to be strictly about studying abroad. You can ask me about traveling, making friends, etc. I'm also hoping that in the near future my blog will transition from a study abroad to a working/living abroad blog because I do intend to return to Paris.

I hope all of you are doing well and thank you so much for all the support. I honestly didn't think my blog was ever going to reach 1,000 page views let alone almost 30,000. I appreciate every comment, email, RT, EVERYTHING! Merci ! Merci beaucoup.
