ABOUT

Salut! I'm Laura and I'm a French and Francophone Studies graduate from San Diego State University who also minored in European Studies. In the 2011-2012 school year I was fortunate enough to go study abroad in Paris at the Sorbonne Paris IV. During my time in Paris I studied French literature and history at the Sorbonne, but outside of the classroom I did everything I could to explore the city and learn more about French culture. I spent a lot of my time studying the French. I spent a lot of time observing the way they interact with one another and how French women carry themselves. My time abroad definitely helped solidify my love for the country, the language, the food, the culture, and the people. I am hoping to return to Paris in the near future.

I have a very multicultural background and I like to show that in my blog. I grew up in Mexico and moved to the United States when I was 10. It wasn't until I was living in the United States where I got the opportunity to learn foreign languages. I began studying French in freshmen year of high school. Its now been 10 years that I've spent learning and trying to perfect my French. I've also started learning Italian in 2012 and I hope to be able to learn a couple more languages in the future since I have an immense passion for foreign languages.

The blog focuses on my experience studying abroad in Paris. I will share stories, tips, pictures, and film an occasional vlog or two. The blog will also deal with my experience as a French major in the United States and once I begin the process of looking for a job and trying to emigrate to France then those topics will begin to be discusses.

I hope you enjoy my blog as much as I enjoy writing it.
